Baby Carl was found on a construction site – clinging to life. He was 1.5 lbs and severely emaciated. Two construction workers did not know what to do when they found him and they brought him to the shelter. He was scheduled to be immediately euthanized because the shelter is not equipped to deal with critical medical cases. A shelter volunteer asked us if we wanted to take a chance on him. Of course – we said YES. He spent 5 days in the hospital and needed blood and plasma transfusions and had a feeding tube for a few days. Now he’s made a full recovery and is loving life in his foster home and will be ready for adoption in a few weeks.
