Meet Piccolina. This itty bitty – 4 lb chihuahua was found as a stray in the desert. And – its a good thing she was brought in to the shelter when she was. After we rescued her we found out she had pyrometra – an infection of the uterus that occurs in unspayed dogs. It is usually fatal if not immediately treated. Luckily we rushed her into surgery and she is recovering well. We also took care of a much needed dental.
She does well with other dogs and would do well with another small dog. She is cuddly and sweet and literally would fit in a handbag.
