Petunia was rescued from the dangerous San Bernardino shelter on her last day of safety. She came to us so fearful and scared of the world – she would not walk outside. After a short session with our trainer and a week in a loving foster home – she is a different dog. Her personality has blossomed and she manages to charm everyone she meets both human and dog.
Petunia is a one year old American Bully. She is about 55 lbs an built like a bulldog. She has many bulldog traits, tongue out while sleeping, likes to snore and climb in your lap. At the same time she’s very athletic and enjoys about 5 miles of walking a day including hiking. She LOVES to play and needs to go to a home with at least one other dog that has a similar play style.
She’s is gentle with all dogs big and small. Crate trained. House trained. Great on leash and would be fine with kids any probably cats too.
To have Petunia in your life will mean have a constant smile. She’s a funny – very sweet girl who is waiting for her forever humans.

Willard also goes by his hashtag – #willardthenicestdogintheword. Its not just a hashtag – its the truth. He came to us from a rural shelter were he was in a great deal of pain from two torn ACLs. That did not stop him from becoming a staff favorite and in fact – he was used as the shelter tester dog to gauge the temperaments of other dogs. He is a true breed ambassador and someone will be so lucky to take him home.
He is about 3 years old, 60 lbs, neutered and up to date on shots.
He had his first surgery to repair his torn ACL and the next one will be in May (we cover that expense). When he came home from surgery – despite his discomfort – he kissed his foster – as if to thank him. He’s truly a special soul.
He’s looking for a loving home so continue his recovery.

Meet Matilda.
This pretty dog has been let down by quite a few people in her life. She was found as a stray and taken in by some kindhearted people. She slept in a bed every night with a young girl and loved her time with them but the landlord kicked her out and she ended up at a crowded shelter. Long story short – she made her way to us and is now doing great.
Matilda is a very smart, athletic dog. She will with a structured environment and lots of exercise. Matilda is a rough player and and loves playing hard with other dogs. However her play style is a bit much for most dogs and for that reason we think she would do best as an only dog.
She is crate trained, house trained and walks well on leash. Wed like to find a family with breed experience for Matilda.

Flynn

Meet Flynn. This beautiful soul has been at the shelter since September. He’s been patiently waiting for SIX MONTHS. SIX months without a soft bed, some good treats, a walk around the block, or scratch behind the ears. And yet, that did not change his sweet and easy-going demeanor. Many dogs would’ve become severely stressed under those circumstances — but not him. Now he is out and safe with us and grateful for everything that he has. His foster says he is one of the nicest dogs she has ever met (and she’s fostered A LOT of dogs). Dog and cat friendly, house trained and an all around great guy. We’re looking for a loving forever home for this kind hearted dog.

This handsome bluenose boy has been patiently waiting at the shelter for 8 months. With a name like Leo – we knew he had to join our rescue family. He has had basic training and is now crate trained, house trained and walks great on leash. He does well with other dogs but would do best with laid back dog who is not very pushy (not a fan of dogs in his face). He has a nice, mellow energy but does enjoy long walks and hikes. He is a great dog and so deserving of a forever home to call his own.

Meet Theodore. This big beautiful teddy bear was turned into the shelter on Christmas Day with a badly broken elbow. He sat and waited… and waited for someone to save him – but nobody came. We knew he was in a lot of pain – but he stayed brave and happy despite the stress he was under. So – we decided to give him a second chance.
He now had surgery to repair his elbow and he is recovering well. The staff at the hospital was quickly won over by his sweet temperament and happy go lucky attitude. He’s a gentle, happy boy who does well with other dogs. He always has a wagging tail and an ear to ear smile. Hes about 55 lbs and 5 years old. Meet Norman.  He is a 3 year old pitbull we rescued from a neglectful situation.  His former owner adopted him from the shelter and then abandoned him at an elderly relatives house who was not equipped to care for him.  He spent his days and nights outside with no medical care.  We stepped in and sent food and toys and paid for a trip to the vet to have an irritation on his leg looked at.  Finally we agreed to take over his care and had him join our rescue.
Turns our Norman was a diamond in the rough – a real gem of a dog. Norman is as sweet as he looks.  He is good with all dogs big and small – medium energy and an all around great guy. He is currently in a cage free doggy day care and does great there. He is truly a breed ambassador.

Meet Misa. She is a mature female lab/pit mix who spent over a month at the very busy Riverside shelter. We think she is about 8 years old. She came into the shelter in rough shape, emaciated, with major hair loss and some old wounds. It is clear her previous life was a tough one. When we told the staff there we wanted to rescue her they were over the moon. During her time there she had won over the hearts of volunteers and staff and they all really wanted to see her make it out of the shelter to safety.

She was kenneled with other dogs at the shelter but now that she is feeling better she has shown some signs that she would do best as an only dog. She loves going for walks and laying on her bed in the sun. She is so grateful for all the love and affection she is receiving out of the shelter. She would be an easy dog to please, a soft scratch behind her ears, a bully stick every once in a while and a stroll around the block. She would be forever grateful to have the life that eluded her during her first 8 years.

Meet Flora. She was turned into the shelter after she was attacked by two German Shepherds. She was badly injured but – instead of getting her proper medical care – her owners took her to the shelter. She is a 10 month old pitbull mix. We expect she will be around 55 lbs at maturity. She is smart, gentle and eager to please. She does well with other dogs and has a good amount of puppy energy so she will need an active family to keep her well exercised.
