Norman

Male

Meet Norman. He is a 3 year old pitbull we rescued from a neglectful situation. His former owner adopted him from the shelter and then abandoned him at an elderly relatives house who was not equipped to care for him. He spent his days and nights outside with no medical care. We stepped in and sent food and toys and paid for a trip to the vet to have an irritation on his leg looked at. Finally we agreed to take over his care. He has infections in both ears, and infection on his leg and in his eyelid. On top of all that – he is about 25 lbs overweight (he was never walked). He is now being treated and… on a diet and doing great.

Normal is just as sweet as he looks. He is good with all dogs big and small – medium energy and an all around great guy. We can’t wait to help him shed some pounds as we know it will be so much healthier for him.

Thank you for choosing to adopt and saving a life.

Chiffon

Female

Meet Chiffon. We rescued her and her 4 newborn puppies from a hoarding situation. Apparently the couple had 20 plus poodle mixes locked in a room of her house. When we rescued them they were dirty and scared. BUT – in just a few days in a safe, loving foster home they began to trust again and have blossomed into loving, happy dogs. Chiffon is almost ready to wean her puppies and find a forever home of her own. She’s about 2 years old and 12 lbs. She is a poodle mix.

Pickles

Male

Meet Pickles. He’s a 1 year Shepherd/Cattle dog mix. He is an intelligent, sensitive and athletic cattle dog/shepherd mix. He loves swimming and would be totally jazzed for a home that has a pool. He’s a youngster (about 11 months) so he needs a family that enjoys hiking or running and someone that will take him for long walks. He’s good with other dogs but would probably annoy a senior so another playful dog would be a good match.
He had some resource guarding issues so he has been in a board and train program up until now. He’s doing great with those issues and is now patiently waiting for his forever family. It would be a beautiful thing to see this dog and his forever home.

Thank you for choosing to adopt and saving a life.

Benny

Male

Benny was adopted but sadly is back on the market looking for his forever humans… again.
We rescued Benny several months ago from the Lancaster Shelter. He had been brought in there with a severe injury and he to have his tail amputated. That didn’t damper his spirit at all. He’s a happy, 50 pound, 2-year-old, #bluevelvet pitbull who lives with two toddlers and is great with them both. He does have a lot of energy and needs more stimulation and exercise and he is getting his current living situation. Someone that enjoys running or hiking would be great for him. In addition he loves going to @thezendogla for some good supervised play. He would do well in a home with another balanced dog.
He is neutered, chipped, up-to-date on shots and ready for true love.

Handsome Harvey

Male

Meet Handsome Harvey.

This sensitive and sweet boy was found on the streets of Compton where some degenerates were kicking him and writing on him with a marker. He found his way to us and is we are so happy he did. He’s a great dog! He’s 42 lbs and we think about one year old. He appears to be a mix of boxer, shepherd and lab – but it is hard to say with certainty.

He does great with other dogs, walks well on leash and is house trained. He has a lot of energy so an active family would be best.

Thank you for choosing to adopt and saving a life.

COCO

Female

Meet CoCo. She’s a 2 year old silky terrier mix that came in to the shelter with her 4 newborn puppies. It was 110 degrees out and someone had left them in a box. Her puppies are now in forever homes and now its her turn. She is 12 lbs, and a very sweet dog. She would be the perfect match for someone who is looking for a dog small enough to travel with but large enough to take for walks and hikes.

Thank you for choosing to adopt and saving a life.

CHET

Male

Meet Chet. He and his brother Louis (our jazz brothers) were rescued after they were dropped off at a rural shelter. The dogs were covered in bite wounds and had other severe injuries consistent with being tethered. They were rushed to our vets and are not happily recovering in foster homes. Despite the trauma of what they endured they are the sweetest, happiest puppies you could ever hope to meet. They are friendly with all dogs, gentle and loving. Our guess is these 3 month old pit bull puppies will grow to be around 60 lbs at maturity.

We are looking for a breed savvy, loving home for them where they will be able to play with other dogs, go on hikes and be loved and adored.

HARLEY

Male

Meet Harley.

He is a 10 month old, pure bred German Shepherd who was rescued from his former owner who wanted to take him to the shelter after he no longer wanted him. Harley spent the first part of his life in a cement backyard and missed out on so many things puppies get to enjoy. He is now safe with us and learning about the world around him. He is a very sweet and loyal dog who loves nothing better than cuddling on the couch with his human. He’s good with other dogs as well. Due to his breed he has natural guarding tendencies so we are looking for a breed experienced home for him that will work on doing proper introductions for him when he is meeting new people and pets.

He is already 80 lbs and we guess he will be around 100 at maturity. He’s neutered, chipped and up to date on everything.

If you have an active lifestyle and are comfortable around BIG dogs – please consider adopting Harley!
