Meet Cortez.  This good natured dog was impounded at a busy shelter in July.  Month after month went by and not one person through Cortez was worthy of a forever home.  Cortez participated in the shelters “play for life” play groups (supervised play groups at the shelter). He did great in those groups and was good with the other dogs.  He also got the prestigious A on his temperament test.  This is a shelter administered temperament test.  An A is an impressive score – especially considering the stress dogs are under in the shelter environment.  This says a lot about Cortez’ sweet personality.

We are not sure why he was looked over time and time again.  Was it due to some hair loss caused by a treated skin condition – or it was because he was just another “plain brown dog”.  We do know Cortez is a very special dog who has so much love to give and deserves a second chance.

After 5 long months he is now safe with us.  He is about 55 lbs, loves going for walks and is good with other dogs.  We estimate his age to be around 3 years old.

Cortez is now looking for his forever human.  Could that person be YOU???  Consider giving this worthy dog a home to call his own.

Thank you for adopting and saving a life!
