Meet Hanz. He was turned into the shelter after his owners said he started limping and they did not want to take him to an orthopedic specialist to be examined. After an exam with our surgeon – it appears he may have had a cut which caused an infection in his bone. He needed surgery to remove a damaged piece of his femur (FHO). We have no doubt he will lead a happy and healthy life though he may never be a long distance runner and may have a slight limp or lameness in that leg.
He has a very sweet disposition and charms everyone he meets – including cats and dogs. He is a 4 month old pure bred German Shepherd mix. Our guess is he will be around 65-70 at maturity.
